Description:We are looking for full-time project assistants to work on a variety of health and medical education projects.

Salary:$14/hour and up DOE -- with benefits! 

Location:Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Time Requirements: Full Time [Full-time work is defined as a maximum of 40 hours. Overtime work is neither expected nor available.]

Position Requirements:

  • Have a BA/BS in a social science, health, science, statistics, or field related to a current project
  • Have at least 3 months' job experience in a relevant position
  • Have strong computer and Internet skills
  • Have strong communication skills, including fluent, grammatically correct oral and written English.

Skills:

  • Have Web experience
  • Have interest in health or medical topics

Strengths:

  • Building educational websites using a variety of software programs
  • Assisting with summative evaluations of educational websites
  • Conducting semi-structured interviews and website usability testing
  • Data analysis under supervision
  • Assisting with writing reports, articles, and posters for professional presentation
  • General clerical duties for the project
  • Learning new skills, including creating Web pages, and developing a knowledge of social-research methods, Internet health information, and health topics such drug-abuse prevention, alcohol abuse, suicide prevention, and tobacco cessation.

Availability: Except for voluntary travel, no availability [pager or otherwise] outside of normal working hours is assumed. Travel is rare and would be used to attend conferences where we present our work to colleagues.

Standard Benefits: For full-time employment, benefits include healthcare, 2 weeks' paid vacation, 10 holidays, 7 sick/personal/conference days, and a retirement plan after 1 year of service. Casual dress. Friendly team environment. Benefits will be prorated for those working 30+ hours/week.
